Jaji Mkuu: Mashariti ya Dhamana Mahakama za Mwanzo Kupunguzwa

Jaji mkuu wa Tanzania Mh. Mohamed Othman Chande amesema idara ya mahakama ipo katika mchakato wa kuangalia upya masharti ya dhamana yanayotolewa katika mahakama za mwanzo baada ya kubainika kuwa ni magumu hali inayochangia mlrundikano wa mahabusu katika magereza yote nchini.

Jaji Chande aliyasema hayo jana jijini Dar es salaam katika uzinduzi wa wiki ya elimu ya sheria nchini katika viwanja vya Mnazi Mmoja ambapo alisema sharti la dhamana sio adhabu kwa mtuhumiwa na kusisitiza kuwa tayari mahakimu katika ngazi za Mahakama za Mwanzo, Wilaya na mikoa wameanza kutafuta njia ya kupunguza idadi ya mahabusu.

Aidha katika uzinduzi huo idara ya mahakama imesema inaangalia uwezekano wa kutoa adhabu mbadala kwa wafungwa waliohukumiwa kifungo cha chini ya miaka mitatu ikiwemo vifungo vya nje kwa kufanya kazi za kijamii zinazosimamiwa na idara ya ustawi wa jamii.
