APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO ORDINARY DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016

The Dar Es Salaam Institute of Technology invites applications from qualified candidates for the admission into the Institute’s Ordinary Diploma Programmes for the academic year 2015/2016 scheduled to commence in mid-October 2015.
A: ORDINARY DIPLOMA (NTAs 6) PROGRAMMES
Programmes Offered including new introduced programme
The Institute offers the following three years courses (NTA Level 4-6) leading to:
(i) Ordinary Diploma in Civil Engineering
(ii) Ordinary Diploma in Computer Engineering
(iii) Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering
(iv) Ordinary Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering
(v) Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
(vi) Ordinary Diploma in Mining Engineering
(vii) Ordinary Diploma in Science & Laboratory Technology
(viii) Ordinary Diploma in Biomedical Equipment Engineering
(ix) Ordinary Diploma in Information Technology
(x) Ordinary Diploma in Multimedia and Film Technology
(xi) Ordinary Diploma in Communication Systems Technology
(xii) Ordinary Diploma in Renewable Energy Technology
(xiii) Ordinary Diploma in Food Science and Technology
(xiv) Ordinary Diploma in Biotechnology (New Programme)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All applications are under private sponsorship whose fee structure is given in the Website (Institute hostels availability is subject to availability of space)
The direct entry segment comprises candidates who have acquired a Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum average of C grade. These candidates will join directly without undergoing the Pre-entry course
In the event that the candidates do not have the qualifications stated above but have minimum passes of “D” grade OR at least Trade Test II/NVA level II or above in the related field of study from VETA accredited Institution, the candidates will be considered for admission after successful completion of a 12 weeks Pre-Entry Course which is tentatively scheduled at the beginning of July 2015.
The tuition fees for pre-entry course is Tshs. 190,000/= for males and 145,000/= for females excluding costs for meals. Cost for hostel accommodation is Tsh1000/- per day. Candidates who will successfully pass the Pre-Entry scheme will be considered for admission to Ordinary Diploma Programmes as private candidates on competitive basis. There are limited vacancies under government sponsorship for females who will pass the pre-entry course
B: MODE OF APPLICATION
B.2 All eligible applicants for Ordinary Diploma programmes are required to apply through DIT online link of http://admission.ditnet.ac.tz in which the information about the modality and procedures for application will be accessible. For more information visit DIT website:http://www.dit.ac.tz
B.3 All eligible applicants for Ordinary Diploma programmes studied at DIT applying for re-admission at different levels are required to collect application forms from the office of the Registrar
Note that Applications letters through our mailbox or application materials mailed through e-mails will not be processed.
B.2 The Online Application for Ordinary Diploma will be processed only if the following scanned documents are attached:
(i)
An original pay in slip of non-refundable application fee of Tsh20,000/= for Tanzanian applicants or Tshs equivalent to USD20 for Non-Tanzanian applicants payable to the Principal, Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology through any branch of CRDB Bank, Account No 0150408417800
(ii) Original relevant certificates such as, A’ level certificate O, level certificate or valid results slip for those completed in the year 2014, GCE, and birth certificate
(iii) A coloured passport size personal photograph taken within the last six months.
C: FEES
Information on DIT fees is provided in the DIT website: http://www.dit.ac.tz through Admission link. Successful candidates will have to pay part of the required fees to retain their vacancies.
D: CLOSING DATE
The closing date for receiving the application forms is 27th July, 2015.
Closing date for applications should be observed. No consideration will be made for late applicants.
NOTE: YOU ARE ADVISED TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PROGRAMMES THAT YOU PREFER SINCE NO CHANGE OF PROGRAMME WILL BE ENTERTAINED ONCE THE ADMISSION HAS BEEN OFFERED.
