Nchi 10 kati ya 14  za umoja wa Ulaya zimetangaza kusitisha ufadhili wao kwa bajeti ya serikali ya Tanzania.

Hii inafuatia uamuzi wa shirika la utoaji misaada la serikali ya marekani (MCC) kuondoa msaada wa dola 472 ( Trilioni 1 )  wa kufadhili miradi ya maendeleo wakidai kuwa uchaguzi wa Marudio zanzibar haukuwa huru na wa haki.

Karibu theluthi moja ya bajeti ya Tanzania ilitegemea msaada toka mataifa ya nje katika bajeti ya mwaka 2015/2016.
