WANAHABARI WAPEWA SEMINA KUHUSU WIKI YA USALAMA BARABARANI YA UMOJA WA MATAIFA JIJINI DAR

 Mkuu wa Kitengo cha Dharura na Maafa wa Wizara ya Afya na Ustawi wa Jamii, Dk. Mary Kitambi akitoa mada kuhusu sekta ya Afya inavyokabiliana na changamoto za utoaji huduma kwa wagonjwa wanaopata ajali.

WATOTO 1, 86, 300 wamekuwa wakipoteza maisha kutokana na ajali za magari duniani hivyo kuwa changamoto kubwa ya usalama barabarani.
Hayo yalibainishwa na Ofisa Mradi wa Usalama Barabarani wa Shirika la Afya Duniani (WHO), Marry Kessy wakati akitoa mada kwa wanahabari kwenye semina ya siku moja ya wiki ya umoja wa mataifa ya usalama barabarani iliyofanyika Dar es Salaam leo.
 
"Hii ni changamoto kubwa duniani na hapa nchini kwani kati ya watoto hao idadi kubwa ya wanaopoteza maisha katika ajali hizo ni watoto wa kiume" alisema Kessy.
 
Mkaguzi wa Polisi kutoka Makao Makuu ya Kikosi cha Usalama Barabarani, Mossi Ndozero alisema kumekuwa na changamoto nyingi zinazotokana na masuala ya usalama barabarani ikiwemo ukiukwaji wa sheria za barabarani unaosababishwa na binadamu.
 
Ndozero aliwataka watumiaji wa vyombo vya moto kuwa makini wawapo barabarani na kufuata sheria jambo litakalo saidia kupunguza changamoto hiyo ya ajali kama sio kuisha kabisa.
 
Mwenyekiti wa Taasisi ya Safe Speed Foundation, Henry Bantu alisema maendeleo ya dunia yamesababisha ongezeko la magari barabarani hususan nchini Tanzania hivyo kuongeza ajali za barabarani.
 
Bantu aliwataka watanzania kujenga utamaduni wa usalama barabara ambao hatuna jambo litakalo saidia kupunguza ajali kwa kusaidiana na wadau wengine.
 
Mkuu wa Kitengo cha Dharura na Maafa wa Wizara ya Afya na Ustawi wa Jamii, Dk. Mary Kitambi alisema ajali zinazotokea nchini zimechangia kuwepo kwa ongezeko kubwa la wagonjwa hivyo kuwa changamoto katika hospitali mbalimbali nchini kutokana na wodi kutokidhi ongezeko la wagonjwa na vifaa tiba.
 
Alisema kilele cha maadhimisho ya wiki ya umoja wa mataifa ya usalama barabarani yatafanyika Julai 15 mwezi huu Shule ya Msingi Uhuru Mchanganyiko jijini Dar es Salaam.
